Ground Team Academy

The 2023 MNWG Ground Team Academy will consist of two pathways, Ground Team and Mission Base Staff. Students in either path will attend the same classes but will split during operational periods; Ground Team students will be in the field with their team performing Ground Team tasks while Mission Base students will be assigned to different branches around the mission base. Mission Base students will accomplish the Mission Staff Assistant and Mission Radio Operator SQTRs while Ground Team students will accomplish the Ground Team 3 SQTR and individual tasks from the GT2 and GT1 SQTRs.

If you are a qualified Ground Team Member and would like to brush up on your skills and renew your qualification, this activity is for you! If you have never done anything with Emergency Services, this activity is also for you! Regardless of your level of skill, the Ground Team Academy is a great way to explore ES, one of Civil Air Patrol’s core missions.

We are seeking qualified Mission Radio Operators, Mission Staff Assistants and Ground Team Leaders to serve on staff to help teach our students. If you are a qualified member in one of these areas, and interested in serving on staff, please complete the staff application, linked here. Staff sign-ups will close on August 17, 2023.

While the cost for this activity is $100 for students, and $50 for staff, scholarships are available. Please reach out to gta@mncap.org should you require financial assistance.
