130th Composite Squadron

Commander

Hello!

I'm Capt Nancy Zimmer.  I assumed command of the 130th Composite Squadron on September 28, 2021.  Before that I served the squadron as the Deputy Commander for Cadets.  I have also been an Assistant Deputy Commander of Cadets, an assistant Safety Officer and the project officer for Wreaths Across America.  When the squadron first formed the Honor Guard I assisted with chaperoning and escorted several teams to the cadet competition.

I joined Civil Air Patrol in 2013.  At that time my two older children and my husband were also members.  My youngest daughter joined on her twelfth birthday in 2014.  Since we live in Faribault, it did not make sense for me to drive 45 minutes to drop off people and then home and back again, so I decided to become a member.  CAP has been a wonderful place to learn and apply new skills.  As an adult it has been a great experience to meet so many other adults committed to helping make a difference in the lives of the leaders of tomorrow.

My husband and I own a tool grinding business.  We manufacture and sharpen industrial cutting tools.  He is the master tool grinder and I do sales and bookkeeping and some tool sharpening.  My older children chose to join the Minnesota Army National Guard and my older daughter is also an airline pilot. My youngest daughter has recently become a senior member.

Feel free to contact me by email at nzimmer130th@gmail.com.
